Saludo al simposio 2024 de Science for the People (ES)
En Ciencia para el Pueblo – México nos alegra la realización de la QB3-Berkeley Bioscience Meeting, Algorithms, Detection, and the “One Health” Approach. Aunque a ningún miembro de nuestra organización nacional le ha sido posible asistir a Berkeley, no queríamos dejar pasar la oportunidad para hacer llegar nuestro deseo de que las actividades de este 16 agosto fortalezcan las redes de investigación, articulación militante, solidaridad y amistad con las que, dentro y fuera de la comunidad científica y más allá de las fronteras geográficas y disciplinarias, contribuyamos a un amplio movimiento de transformación radical del mundo.
Ante el ecocidio planetario capitalista, el caos geopolítico y el ascenso de movimientos de extrema derecha, es fundamental que pongamos nuestros conocimientos y herramientas al servicio de la movilización de la inteligencia colectiva del pueblo trabajador, del cual formamos parte. Contra todo negacionismo reaccionario y uso de la ciencia para justificar y promover la opresión, el despojo y la explotación de seres humanos y del resto de la naturaleza, tenemos que desarrollar enfoques creativos, basados en evidencia, para comprender y promover soluciones a la complejidad de la policrisis civilizatoria en su conjunto.
En esta celebración de los 10 años de la revitalización de Science for the People, ratificamos nuestra pertenencia internacionalista al mismo movimiento científico y político radical. Enarbolamos la misión de construir una herramienta organizativa para la lucha al lado de los oprimidos, de quienes con su labor físico e intelectual mueven al mundo, de los pueblos originarios, de quienes sufren agresiones imperialistas y ocupaciones coloniales, de quienes reciben los peores efectos de la devastación ambiental y quienes son excluidos o violentados estructuralmente.
¡Cambiar el mundo, transformar la vida y cuidar la naturaleza!

Greetings to the 2024 Symposium of Science for the People (EN)
At Ciencia para el Pueblo – México we are delighted that the QB3-Berkeley Bioscience Meeting, Algorithms, Detection, and the “One Health” Approach, is taking place, and although no member of our national organization has been able to attend Berkeley, we did not want to miss the opportunity to express our wish that the activities of this August 16 will strengthen the networks of research, militant articulation, solidarity and friendship with which, inside and outside the scientific community and beyond geographical and disciplinary boundaries, we contribute to a broad movement for the radical transformation of the world.
In the face of capitalist planetary ecocide, geopolitical chaos and the rise of extreme right-wing movements, it is essential that we put our knowledge and tools at the service of mobilizing the collective intelligence of the working people, of which we are a part. Against all reactionary denialism and the use of science to justify and promote oppression, dispossession and exploitation of human beings and the rest of nature, we must develop creative, evidence-based approaches to understand and promote solutions to the complexity of the whole multi-civilizational crisis.
In celebrating the 10th anniversary of the revitalization of Science for the People, we ratify our internationalist membership in the same radical scientific and political movement. We uphold the mission of building an organizational tool for the struggle alongside the oppressed, those whose physical and intellectual labor moves the world, the native peoples, those who suffer imperialist aggressions and colonial occupations, those who receive the worst effects of environmental devastation and those who are excluded or structurally violated.
